Fun with Terminal

Well this is a bit of a lame first effort, but I have to break the ice somehow.  My maiden voyage on the sea of blogging…  Perhaps this is the beginning of something, we shall see dear reader how this works out..  Ok now for the tip.. this one was a forehead slapper and could have saved me  many, many keystrokes.

In terminal many people are familiar with the shortcut ctl (control) E to go to the end of the line.  Very magical.. however, where I usually need to be is at the beginning of a line of commands…  usually because I’d failed to put in a SUDO.  I discovered that ctl A will zip the cursor right to the front of the line where it blinks waiting for you to correct your oversight and type sudo… gotta love it.

Ok lets see what other cool stuff I can dredge up!
